Horse Doctor (Hangul: 마의; Hanja: 馬醫; RR: Maeui; also known as The King's Doctor) is a 2012 South Korean television series, starring Jo Seung-woo and Lee Yo-won. It is aired on Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) from 1 October 2012 for 70 mins on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:55 for 50 episodes. This is also a special drama series to celebrate The 51st Anniversary of MBC.

The historical drama is directed by Lee Byung-hoon, known for his previous works Hur Jun, Jewel in the Palace, Yi San and Dong Yi. This marks the first television drama for actor Jo Seung-woo in his 13-year film and stage career.[

Plot

"Horse Doctor" follows a veterinarian in the Joseon Period as he goes through difficulties to become a royal physician.

It is about the life of a Joseon-era low-class veterinarian who specialized in the treatment of horses who rises to become the royal physician in charge of the King's health.
